Opening Times

  • Monday to Friday 3.30 - 5.00
  • Tuesday dance class is 7.30 - 9.00
  • Wednesday Evening Drop-in 7.30 - 9.00
  • Thursday night Drama 7.30 - 9.30
  • Friday night is detached work.

Drop-in

After schools drop-in is open to everyone, it is a safe, shared space where young people can relax and enjoy each other's company. Links youth work is based in the Underground, the Underground is a large purpose built youth and community centre located in the basement of Heatons in the centre of Lurgan. The Underground serves as a base for all Links youth work activities; it has a range of equipment (WII's, X Box, Pool table, Snooker table, Comfortable seating area, modern music system and computers) and a modern kitchen facility.

Dance

Dance plays a large role in the lives of many of the young people. The dance class is facilitated by a qualified instructor in a state of the art dance studio.

Detached Team

The detached team work on the streets of Lurgan every Friday night from 7.30 until 10.00 depending on the need.

3D Art

3D art project will commence on 27th Jan with an artist assisting a group of young people produce a piece of 3D art.

Mind Set

Mind set is a 4 week mental health programme looking at the issue of depression which can impact on so many young people. This programme will commence on Monday 1st Feb and run for 4 consecutive Monday evenings from 7.30 - 9.00. The Health Promotion Agency will facilitate this programme.

Romance Academy

Romance Academy is a sexual health programme with an emphasis on abstinence from sexual activity, this programme will commence on Wednesday 10th February from 7.30 - 9.00 this programme will run for 8 weeks.

Diversionary Activities

The diversionary activities will commence on Friday 5th February at 7.00 will are taking the young people away to discourage them from the perceived 'normal' Friday night.

Fame

This year's drama production is Fame, with a cast of 45 taking part in this production in April.
